Bhujodi is a major textile centre in Gujarat, India. On the street of Bhujodi village people spread off-white and coloured yarns adjacent to the veranda/courtyard where each group works to feed their loom for weaving. Each family in Bhujodi has more than two looms either weaving for local demand or for commercial purposes. Each morning, the whole village is busy making Bhujodi products.
People of Bhujodi are the Vankars or weavers, the Mughal migrants who had migrated from Rajasthan about 500 years ago, to weave the woollen veil cloths and coarse woolen blanket for the Rabari community, having adapted to current demands and trends, still plying their craft. SOURCE: d'source.in
